Strategic Planning Manager

Grade: Dir J £44,511 – £47,404

You will provide support to the Police and Crime Commissioner and his senior team in developing the police and crime plan, monitoring its success against agreed priorities and provide strategic planning and high value analytical support across the Office portfolios.

Working in an internal consultancy role, you will provide tactical insight to the Commissioner on operational performance against priorities and plan, and take a lead role on discrete projects and initiatives as directed by the Commissioner and Chief Executive.

Building strong and influential relationships and working collaboratively with AGMA, GMP and other key partners is also a key feature of this role contributing to the delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy and the Public Service Reform Agenda.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable understanding and/or experience of working for a Police and Crime Commissioner and of complex relationship management with a wide range of stakeholders, including a high degree of political skills & cultural awareness.

You should also have significant consultancy and influencing skills and the ability to think creatively and ‘outside of the box’ to generate new ideas for continuous service improvement and transformation.
