Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Jim Battle will join local people this weekend to raise awareness of alcohol recovery services and support.
The annual UK Recovery Walk, which takes place in Manchester city centre this Saturday (13 September), celebrates the achievements of people in recovery and recognises the work of prevention, treatment and recovery service providers.
Jim said: “There are many services and organisations across Greater Manchester doing valuable work to help and support people who are suffering from addiction. This event is an opportunity to recognise the work they do and also celebrate those who have overcome their addictions and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
The walk starts at 12pm at Castlefield Arena. For more information and to register to take part visit www.ukrecoverywalk.org
