A Christmas message from your Police and Crime Commissioner:
I’d like to wish you all a very merry Christmas.
Christmas is a time of celebration, and here in Greater Manchester we certainly know how to let our hair down.
But it’s important that you keep yourselves safe over the festive period.
If you’re going out make sure you look after friends and relatives, get a taxi home and, of course, don’t drink and drive.
You can also take a look at Greater Manchester Police’s online advent calendar , filled with advice on how to keep you, your family, friends and your property safe this Christmas – you’ll find it at gmp.police.uk.
My vision is for all of us to work together to build the safest communities in Britain and over the last 12 months I’ve been out and about across Greater Manchester, meeting hundreds of people to help me shape local policing. I look forward to building on this in 2014, working with police, councils, other agencies and – most importantly – local people, to make our neighbourhoods better and safer.
I hope you all have a merry, safe and peaceful Christmas.
See you all in the New Year.
