Greater Manchester has one of the largest Irish communities in Britain.

Irish people have made a significant contribution to the success of our region throughout the ages and it’s no surprise that Greater Manchester celebrates St Patrick’s Day in style.

The Manchester Irish Festival is the biggest Irish festival in Europe and runs from Friday 8 to Monday 18 March 2013.

The centrepiece of the festival is the annual parade, which this year takes place on St Patrick’s Day itself, Sunday 17th March. It is believed that the only St Patrick’s Day parade in the world bigger than Manchester’s is that in New York.

For more information about the festival, visit the website at www.manchesteririshfestival.co.uk.
