Tony joins local teams to celebrate grassroots football

Tony joined the Manchester FA and local football teams to celebrate Sir Bobby Robson Day on Saturday 10 August.

The event was held to mark the nation’s love of the game, part of the 150 year anniversary celebrations of the FA.

The day was hosted by Moorside Rangers FC and Beechfield United FC at Beechfarm Playing Fields in Swinton, and showcased grassroots football at all ages and abilities, giving the public the chance to get involved in everything from tournaments to skills sessions and coaching workshops.

Tony presented medals and trophies to 5v5 Vets champions Moorside and runners-up Salford Reds B.

Moorside Rangers Down Syndrome team were crowned winners of their showcase match.
